I woke up at 5:15 am and spent a little time in the lobby, before going to ‘ Shirley’s ‘ for breakfast. When I got back to the hotel, I took a shower and packed my bags for our scheduled move to Aquarius Tower Beach Hotel.
Most of us went to the Saipan Community Church at 10 am and listened to a sermon was about the comparison of the Sacrifice of Isaac with the crucifixion of Christ.
After the service Harold had meetings with some FEMA representatives and then we met him at the Aquarius hotel to check in to our rooms. The rooms are similar to a high rise Residence Inn with multiple bedrooms and full cooking facilities. The ocean view rooms have a spectacular view of the ocean and to the south you can see the island of Tinian, which is only a 23 km ( 14 miles ) away.
We are sharing three different apartments, each with 2 to 3 bedrooms in each. From the inland view of the 10th floor apartment that I am in, you can see the ocean to the north, as well as most of the island.
For lunch, Ed, Phil, Richard and I went to the Oleai Restaurant. On the way we met Judith, one of the FEMA representatives, and we asked her to join us for lunch which she graciously accepted. Meanwhile, Radar and Anet had opted to go swimming at Bird Island in the afternoon.
After lunch we drove to the JoeTen store and picked up some groceries for the week. By the time we got back to the apartment it was mid-afternoon. We got settled in the apartment and then went out for a light supper, before returning to the hotel for the night.
